For over two decades, our family business thrived in the world of conventional shoes. Led by our founder's family, we flourished, but with time, Our founders witnessed the shadows cast by the manufacturing process of conventional footwear. The more we delved into this industry, the clearer it became - the problems were immense, and solutions were urgent.
The Dark Side of Conventional Shoes
Shoe Waste: Each year, our planet bore witness to the birth of approximately 20 billion pairs of shoes. Shockingly, more than 300 million pairs were discarded annually, adding to the mammoth problem of shoe waste.
Landfill & Water bodies Dominance: Landfills & water bodies, the final resting place of these discarded shoes, suffered. About 95% of landfills were covered by discarded shoes piled on top.
Greenhouse Gas Emissions: The carbon footprint of the shoe industry was undeniable, contributing around 1.4% to global greenhouse gas emissions.

Introducing JUTAJI, India's First 100% Biodegradable Footwear™
The creation of JUTAJI brought a big change. Our founder's idea became real as India got its first shoes that could easily break down into nature. These shoes came from a lot of hard work in research and making. They were carefully made from things found in nature, showing a new way to make shoes.

The natural question that arose was, "Could biodegradable also mean durable?" Countless hours in the lab, rigorous testing, and a relentless pursuit of excellence led us to a solution. The key was found, unlocking the perfect balance between eco-friendliness, durability, and comfort.
